For the official opening of the House of Hoops presented by Foot Locker at the Cherry Hill Mall (N.J.) on August 16th, Chainlink Fundamentals and Dime Magazine honored four local high school basketball players for their solid work both on and off the court.

One of those local athletes was Camden Catholic’s Gerry Wixted.

After winning the South Jersey Championship during his sophomore year, Gerry Wixted was ready to do it again. But although the Irish didn’t repeat, Gerry battled night in and night out, leading his squad to an impressive 22-6 record. When he’s not on the hardwood, you can find Gerry swimming competitively or volunteering as the coach of a local 5th/6th grade basketball team. Going into his senior year, be sure to watch out for the 6-7, 209-pound star who averaged 16.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
